Today I started my power sheets designed by Lara Casey. For those who are not familiar with Lara Casey she will quickly become one of your favorite people without even meeting her. Casey is editor and chief of Southern Weddings magazine along with her own branding and consulting services, motivational speaking, and owner of her own shop where she produces the cutest prints along with her famous power sheets. I first purchased these as a Christmas gift for a dear friend, as soon as they arrived I was instantly hooked and knew I had to have my own. The power sheets are designed to help creative entrepreneurs strategically plan action steps to make things happen!

As 2014 approaches I have so much I want to do not on personally, but for HoneyBee. One of the hardest things for me as a young entrepreneur is comparing myself to business that have been operating 10+ years and instantly wanting to be at that level.

This week I came across a quote “Don’t compare your middle, to someone else’s end”

Don't compare your beginning to someone else's middle

Those words really struck me, I think this not applicable just to my business to my life right now through the transition of grad-school and entering “the real world”. Society today wants instant gratification, but without handwork we won’t get to someone else’s middle. With that said I’m setting a few goals large but attainable goals.

Business Goals:
Increase Inventory by 10-12 large pieces of furniture
Network, Network, Network
Keep a fresh and innovative look at all times
Shadow other vendors in the industry to gain more knowledge and insight on their side of the business
Produce more styled shoots for websites and blog

Personal Goals Include:

Run 5 half marathons
GO TO YOGA- I am extremely un-flexable and a little relaxation might do myself some good
Cook one new recipe a week- We all have tendency to cook the same things over and over. I want to be adventuresome and learn to prepare mouth watering meals for friends, but more importantly I want to be able to master those recipes my mom cooks, but every time you cook them they never taste the same.
Hit the weight room- after my college running days I have neglected the weight room and have focused more on body weight, time to get back at a minimum of twice a week.
Read 10 books this year that are not wedding related. I am constantly reading books, magazines, or blogs that all have one thing in common…. weddings. With that being said I leave little time for leisure reading.

What have you decided to better about yourself in the New Year?
